Do you by any chance know if the motherboard from a Studio 1558 will fit into a casing from a 1555?
@040134 It does vary slightly as each computer has different types of components. The steps should generally be the same, so it might work and it might not.
@040134 It will vary, however; it should be a similar process.
Can I use the exact same steps as demonstrated in this video tutorial to take the MB out from my Dell Inspiron 1564 or does it vary?
one of the fucking screws are stuck!
@borges69 In order to efficiently clean the fan you will need to gain access to it. In order to gain access to it you will need to disassemble the unit.
I appreciate you for this video .
How I can easly clean the fan of my 1557 (with less effor)
For example is it necessary to get out my HD and all screws of the back?
thanks
@dellpartspeople Ok thanks for the info. Will just see what I’ll do with it
@Nenaunir In order to remove the heatsink so that you may clean and reapply thermal compound you would have to completely remove the motherboard.
@dellpartspeople Can you (or anyone else for that matter) confirm that I’d have on a Studio 1555 I’d basically have to remove the motherboard to be able to apply new thermal paste / thermal pad to the Processor and GFX heatsinks?
Since a few months my laptop has been having overheating issues during intensive graphics work. Already cleaned out the fans as good as possible with compressed air.
Not sure if I’m willing to go through these staps purely for occasional overheating though
could i geta better video card for my studio 1558? because i have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570?
and i want to blay somthing like battlefield 3 at least high with a great framerate
@dellpartspeople I’ve managed to do it already, at first I didn’t know about the heatsink so I posted on dell and I’m running the new motherboard right now.
@neimodn Yes it is possible to switch the Intel board for the ATI board, however; you will need a different heatsink. The part number for the Dell Studio 1555 ATI heatsink is Y140J.
Is it possible to switch from the D177M motherboard to the C235M motherboard without any issues? Any setup on how to?
SO COOL!!! Really Thank you very much for the tutorial!! ^^
Thank you for this video.
@Simplytemi The Dell Studio 1558 will support the following processors:
Intel® Core™ i7-620M, 2.66 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache
Intel® Core™ i5-540M, 2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache
Intel® Core™ i5-520M, 2.4 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache
Intel® Core™ i5-430M, 2.26 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache
Intel® Core™ i3-350M, 2.26 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache
Intel® Core™ i3-330M, 2.13 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache
@dellpartspeople Hello, which processors are supported by the Dell Studio 1558
Hello , i had my studio 1555 laptop for 2 years. the fan suddenly stopped working and the laptop overheated ( no signs of a dying fan were given) . How do i check to see if the fan is actually dead [in this case, how to i replace the fan? whats the model to buy?] , or if it maybe a software problem[in this case , how do i test? {no windows alert was given with respect to software error}]. Please, a response is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot….
WOW! You act like you’ve done this before!
@MrAvatar9999 Unfortunately the only processors supported by the Dell Studio 1555 are the:
- Intel Core™ 2 Duo(800MHz /1066MHz)
- Intel Pentium Dual Core (667MHz)
- Intel Celeron (667Mhz)
hi dellpartspeople,
Do you think 1555 processor can upgrade to i5 instead of Core 2 Duo ?
this took me 7 hrs straight to disassemble and put it back together again, without looking at the manual or previous experience. If you wanted to clean or replace the cooling fan, you gotta disassemble it completely! not very smart … u may damage expensive components to change a 20 bucks fan….
the top of my laptop fan dell studio 1558 made a burning smell can help me
that is wrong with my laptop
The graphics chip set is hard wired on the mother board itself and can not be replaced with out replacing the entire mother board.
