My website: www.musicarta.co.uk YouTube channel www.youtube.com Facebook: www.facebook.com Twitter: www.twitter.com Google Buzz: www.google.com Digg: digg.com This video will show you how to repair or fix the MBR. The ‘MBR’ stands for the ‘Master Boot Record’ and it’s the information in the first sector of any hard disk. It identifies how and where an operating system is located so that it can boot into the computer’s main storage or random access memory. So essentially, if the MBR gets damaged or broken, you may not be able to load any operating systems. If you haven’t already got a Windows repair or installation disc, click the link below to watch my video on how to make one for free: www.youtube.com If you have a question about this video, after reading all of this description, please leave a comment and I will try and get back to you. If you would like to request a computer related tutorial for me to make and upload, please leave a comment on my channel or contact me through my website or forum and I will see what I can do. In the unlikely event that anything goes wrong with your computer when following the steps in my video, then it is in no way my fault and I am not responsible. I am, however, prepared to help you as best I can. If you do have a problem, feel free to get in touch. Music Provided By www.freeplaymusic.com. @MrDominicanVIC Your Windows operating system’s files are most probably corrupt beyond this kind of repair or the hard disk boot sector is significantly damaged. How do you go about fixing this? Performing a system restore (either keeping your custom data or a complete factory reset (the latter is more reliable)) should most definitely fix this problem. If you don’t know how to do this, reply back with your exact system model and model number and I should be able to give you exact instructions.

This saved me much pain that would have been a result of crawling scattered linux forums. Crisp video, thanks so much for the clarity in your instructions :)

@darka310 Yes, it should do, as long as you have the right repair disc or installation disc (ie. the one that corresponds to the edition of Vista that you have installed). Although it may work using a repair disc for a different edition of Vista or even a Windows 7 installation disc, I can’t guarantee that it will. That said, there’s still no harm in trying other discs; it can’t cause any damage.

  9. darka310 says:

will this work on windows vista?

@Panda4Cash [Please read the comment that I posted below to basicxml]. I give several ways of getting the CD to run at boot up: the boot menu, which may or may not be F8 on your computer, and I provide an annotation to an additional video which shows you how to change the boot order in the BIOS so your computer will boot to the CD automatically. This can be done regardless of whether the MBR is damaged or not; the BIOS is separate. As explained, what the MBR does is locate an operating system.

  15. Musicarta says:

@basicxml There’s no need to type in capital letters. This is exactly why one should make regular backups on external media and why one should create/keep safe any necessary repair discs when the computer is first purchased. However, one can create this repair disc on another computer (or use someone else’s disc) as long as the operating system is the same. Booting from a CD is nothing to do with the MBR so one can boot from a CD (and most computers a USB too) even with a damaged MBR.

@PlatinumENT1000 So glad to hear this. Enjoy it :) Have a great day!

  17. Panda4Cash says:

Agree with basicxml, how we do it when we can’t get on. F8 won’t work cuz the MBR is rejecting it.

  18. basicxml says:

WHAT THE HECK HOW DO YOU DO IT WHEN YOU CAN’T GET ON IDIOT jeez

  19. PlatinumENT1000 says:

@Musicarta Update on things mate, I got it working PERFECT now, I reset everything and there’s not 1 stock tune on it, I’ve tuned it myself and it’s working perfect, overclocked it to 4.0GHz from 3.4Ghz, 12GB ram and the rest is the same! Take care and thanks for your help with this video aswell without this I wouldn’t have my computer!!!

@bdlovednbWTfred I got ugly windows 7 i can´t connect to the internet and battery is is trouble because always i got shadow screen Small brightness . Problem with sound and more !

  21. Musicarta says:

@bdlovednbWTfred In what way ‘can’t you repair it agian’? It might not be the MBR that is causing whatever problem your having.

  22. bdlovednbWTfred says:

@bdlovednbWTfred Yeah and right now i can´t repair it again . Why ?

  23. Musicarta says:

@bdlovednbWTfred Right, I understand. Yes, this CD can be used as many times as necessary; there is not limit.

  24. bdlovednbWTfred says:

@Musicarta Not really . I mean This : Can I use this CD more then once . Because I try it and now I can´t fix mbr.
I got same problem right now , and when i use the CD it doesn´t working . Understand ?

  25. Musicarta says:

@bdlovednbWTfred ‘When I can make the same thing again’. Not quite sure what you mean, sorry. You can create this CD as many times and you want, if that’s what you meant.
