I am thinking about buying this laptop and I was wondering how good the speakers are? I don’t listen to a alot of loud stuff but do like to pull up some videos on youtube and watch them. So are the speakers decent?
@dbllds the back light is a $40 option. My build was 1385 as it is, IF I decide to buy it. Anyone one know of other sources of extended warranty/ damage insurance? Dell’s options for it can add nearly 30% to the total cost sometimes. That’s nuts
@ourbloodyrevolution Yes the RAM and HDD are easy to upgrade. You will be happy with this machine. I would recommend a SSD hard drive. This is a great investment for speed and reliability. I personally have one in my Precision M6300.
@dbllds Maybe that is a new feature, from what I understand it was not an option, but as you know with technology, things change. I would appreciate if you would update us and the Youtube family if it does come with backlit keyboard. Thanks.
is this easy to upgrade (the ram and the hard drive) ? and how is the battery life?
vostro 3750 shows backlit keyboard in the build stage. just ordered one and it show backlit keyboard on the build sheet specs.
@luischo7591 Well honestly, I would not buy a laptop for gaming, they are not really great values for that use. For a laptop, you can never update video card, cpu or motherboard. RAM and Hard drive are it. Now a desktop, you can do all of the above, and you can get way more power for the money. I would probably get a Vostro, probably not going to be as fast as XPS, but I think it will have more longevity. The XPS laptops tend to burn out sooner because of all the heat from GPU. Go desktop!
hey dude i ben thinking in buying a dell vostro 3750 with nvidia geforce 540 1gb for gaming what do you think about it or its better the Dell XPS? tell me what you think…
I shall make this mine XD
hey man and the quality of sound what you think about it compare with the XPS?????????
@Zsomcy90 No it doesn’t, I believe the new Latitude series has that as an option. thanks.
@vattn3 Yes it does, it has both.
@ylensify Technically it is possible, we would not do it, Dell probably wouldn’t do it. Too much work for that, it would be very expensive to buy just an I7 chip by itself to upgrade in the future. If your thinking about upgrading, you should do it before you buy. Thanks for your questions.
Great review…
Is it possible to upgrade the CPU from i3 to i7 should the need arise? Or is the CPU embedded on the chipset?
Hi, does it have a stereo or mono microphone input?
Does it have backlit keyboard?
pls somebody know?
@mrshimota Sorry about the late reply, it should be a standard feature on the machine. It is an accent that should be on any model. Thanks so much.
Hi – I had sent an e-mail to your business account, but hadn’t heard back from you. Could you please tell me how it is that you have the silver/metalic framing around your keyboard because when I design my own on dell.com, it comes only in the black matte finish. Thanks for your reply!
@scsnospam1 Hello, the screen is a matte or anti-glare. Thanks for your question, have a great day!
Is the display glossy or matte?
@keebler881 Thanks so much for your question. The LCD is a LED 17.3″ Anti-glare (1600 x 900), so a little better than 720P HD. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!
I currently have the Vostro 3700, and the keyboard does look nicer in this model, oh well. Not sure about the second gen core processors though. Some of the port placements are better on the 3750 too…
One question though. What is the resolution of the monitor on the 3750?
@hitssquad Yes it does come with Driver DVDs and Windows 7 64 Bit Dell disks, however I would recommend making backup disks from the Dell Recovery tool that comes on the desktop, that way you get a copy of the Microsoft Office 2010 Starter Office. Thanks for your question and have a great day!
@pecaer45 Yes it does have its own speakers. They are not as good as consumer level speakers as far as super loud, but they are acceptable. Thanks for your question, have a great day!
Does it come with an operating-system DVD?
