Acer Aspire 5742z 5742 Laptop Screen Replacement Procedure

This is a very nasty virus that is running rampant on the internet as of January 2010. In many cases people have lost their entire computer to it so it’s a really bad one. Be sure to go to the link below and read the instructions very carefully. Also be sure to follow the instructions exactly as they are stated. That will help you fix this issue and get it off of your computer. This should also work on Desktop Security virus and Desktop Defender Virus. Here is the link to the article: www.softsailor.com Here is the link to malwarebytes which is free and you will need this to fix the problem: www.malwarebytes.org Step 1: Go here and download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for free. Save the file to your desktop. If Internet Security 2010 does not allow you to download anything, you should download the setup on another computer and use an USB stick or a CD/DVD to transfer the files needed. Remember to place the setup file on the desktop. Step 2: Click here to download the rkill.com file. download.bleepingcomputer.com Once the download is complete, run it. The rkill.com file will make sure the Internet Security 2010 will be closed for good so it does not interfere with the removal process. Step 3: Close all open applications and windows. You now should be on the desktop. Step 4: Run the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware setup from the desktop. Step 5: Go with the default settings during the install. I have this laptop and I find that the screen randomly kind of flickers, and sometimes it slowly goes dim and then comes back to normal. Its not a flickering on/off, its just a faint flicker in the back ground

can u help me i having problem my led screen become pink i use external monitor its was fine on other monitor and i also fix a new one same pink? theres is a chance its the wire problem ? even in bios is pink

@ScreenSurgeons ugh, couldn’t it be a loose cable or something? although it doesnt flickr as I move the screen… another screen for a just 1 year old notebook, they didn’t seem to see the problem at the acer support when I took it there for repairment
@damicore 80% chance the screen itself, 20% chance the motherboard. Only way to find out is to try a new screen.

my acer 5742,sometimes changes its screen color for 5 sec,if i refresh the page, the original screen color comes back,,this happens 2-3 times a week…….tis means am i supposed to change the screen?

Malwarebytes is a good program. Well worth having on the computer.
i just ran a full virus windows defender scan it quarantined everything and fix it in process i t keeps me up to date with updates and new updates everyday so who ever is saying windows defender is a virus piece of shit they are lying it works great for my computer plus i also have mcafee on my virus protection and my windows firewall

@goldboyjr Just use Linux Mint it’s free and doesn’t need anti-virus software.

Great info BUT if that frekkin thing is on your computer U R screwed PERIOD U cannot surf the net weather it b IE or firefox to find a fix for it. cannot even run my malwarebytes How do I know ?? I just frekkin had it BUT I did figure it out.QUITE SIMPLE REALLY ??DO A SYSTEM RESTORE ASAP

You are FUCKING AMAZING i had this problem before but i never new of this solution so i had to do a system restore and lose EVERY thing i’m glad i didn’t have to go that route again

Does this technique work for backdoor trojans? I have a pesky one at the moment. My MSE picks up some parts of the virus and removes it but it always comes back. Im currently running in safe mode ( as i dont want the virus to infect much more ) and i ran a scan with microsoft safety scanner. It picked up 3 more files. Im not too sure if the problem will be fixed..

@wink19828 yes! malwarebytes gets rid of it! i ran it and it found a total of about 400 infected files
fuckin bullshit that rkill is worst then the virus it kept popping up all over my computer!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, soo i dont know if this’ll help but, i got a Windows 7 Security 2011 Virus on my computer(is a brother virus to this one), it completely cut off my ability to access the internet and everything, So what i did was exactly what he did, installed malwarebytes with USB drive and stuff, then went into safe mode, right clicked on malwarebytes and then clicked run as administrator, somehow this gets malwarebytes going, Run a quick scan, quarantine the infected files, and Done.
This is on my mom’s computer. On MY computer I have AVG (and RegCure, excellent!) never had a problem. I love it. Meanwhile, I have to figure this mess out.
I wish I could use this but I can’t access an internet page, run, msconfig, regedit or anything. This sucks! I can access Task Manager, but of course this program is not showing there.

always back up info, when you 1st get the machine be it desktop or laptop make recovery disks ( I know you want to test out your new computer but better safe than sorry) some companies like dell give you utility disks and a windows os disk so you don’t have to burn any. then when all else fails pop in the windows disk and set cmos to boot off of cd, reformat the hard drive and enjoy your new-ish computer.
actually to add to that comment u r god himself (no offense to anyone) and all my special computer tools were saved butt this program is pretty good ill host it as my friends and i special tools for those other special people try to do special things to us in a special way
